wow, guys let the man be, my first xbox didnt die until recently and ive had it for more than a year. besides xbox 360 is 150-200 dollars now for a white one

theyre supposed to last more than a year my ps3 died one month off three years

I got a ps one, and ps 2 never had an issue with either one. So I will stick with Playstation.

dude, i guarantee you the only problem with 360 is the ventilation, besides that you can hit it with a sledge hammer, dunk it underneath water, etc and it will still work

oh and by the way, once your ps3 dies, tack on an extra 150 dollars to get it fixed, and its not guaranteed to work even when you get it back

but after im done with this post, im leaving this topic because all it is is a bunch of fan boys ranting on what system is better, and on this case its a bunch of Playstation Fan boys. i support xbox because its american made, something you rarely come across now a days

PSone and PS2 were good systems I agree with that. But as hardware becomes more complicated in systems most people discover that more problems arise.

Adder brings up a good point about being American made, especially considering the economy.

Another point is the warranties. PS3 has to pay off costs of production so they have a warranty you have to pay for. 360 (although only recently) has a free repair and warranty service when ever you buy a 360 of any kind.

Prices for 360 are still lower and my older brother who worked at a videogame store for about 2 years confirms with me that a 360 is the way to go for this generation of consoles until the next next gen (if there is one) comes out.

Another thing is you need to consider the future.
Project Natal is 10x better then the eyepet or whatever it is, because it not only adds games that are exclusive to Natal but it is backwards compatable with tons of older 360 games. Both systems will be offering stereoscopic 3-D (i think that's what it is called) so that really can't be a factor.

The only reason I personally can think of wanting a PS3 is due to a Blu-Ray player that is cheap (but now the prices for those are starting to go down.)

Actually and extended 3 yr warranty for the PS3 is $79 dollars up here that covers everything, which isn't all that bad. Microsoft as yet again rushed a product out the door too quick to be first, Vista and ME are prime examples. As a rule Microsoft isn't the best choice for hardware products. How do i know?

Now correct me if I am wrong but doesn't hardware include the hard disk, Random Access Memory, CPU. I believe that trying to pass off Vista as Hardware is incorrect as it is an operating system.

But of course you have to take care of your gaming machines but paying extra for something offered free is like paying for a bottle of water. It's basically all the same stuff in a fancier package.

No I was merely stating that Microsoft rushes products out the door to be first.
Plus Noir I was fricken tired at the time and the name of all the Microsoft produced hardware escapes me.

Do you realize if Microsoft took 8 minutes extra on each 360, they would have saved themselves a lot of grief.

Thing is Microsoft is a software company not a hardware company. Sony is a electronics and hardware company. So both will have their strengths and weaknesses, just like the age old debate....Ford or Chevy. So my decision to buy a Playstation 3 is based on this, it is what I know.

you know....you guys are talking about all this crap and whatnot...but PS3's really dont die for a hella long time. My PS3 has never broken down before. Put it in a safe spot....and nothing will happen, whereas even if you put a 360 in a safe spot...it'll eventually stop working. 2 yrs...3 yrs...whatever...it'll stop. Only thing that would make me consider a 360 is the games...but PS3 has there fair share of great exclusives coming out. Infamous already came out, and we get our Final Fantasy exclusive...(and i know john's a big fan of FF.) So....we should be okay. If 360 really has gone down to $200 its probably not the newer version...and its still a better deal to get a gaming system/blue ray for just $100 more. I find the PS3 to be a better deal, through and through.

Now that we have 360 fanboys as well as PS3, Autosaver will post any day now about the superiority of the Wii.

If you still have the reciet then Sony will definately give you another PS3 free of charge. I still have the second PS3 from last November. Working with no issues.

They haven't failed me yet.

No the work wouldn't be guaranteed, cause Sony fixes it right the first time. Not like the GF's brother's 360 that he had sent to Microsoft 4 times and that was after he had his first one replaced. Seriously what is up with that?
