Personal rant (unrelated to this forum) - MATURE CONTENT O_O

It's nearing election time here in my country, and that means time to pick new leaders... or is it?

Well, now that the proper warning has been placed, here's my rant:

With people like HIM (see below), the right to suffrage goes straight to the dogs.

-Current Mayor of Datu Unsay Town, Maguindanao Province, Philippines
- Architect and primary participant of the infamous "Maguindanao Massacre" on November 23, 2009, resulting in the deaths of 57 people consisting of women (some of whom are pregnant), journalists, and motorists. - The single deadliest election-related violence in Philippine History and the deadliest single attack on journalists according to the CPJ (Committee to Protect Journalists).

No words can properly express the evil that this man has wrought... and he's not even feeling a hint of guilt about it, even in prison or in court. Even if several of his relatives are in prison too for conspiring -and supplying - arms and ammunition enough to sustain a small army.

He, along with major political armies in various parts of my country, have been doing this stuff (murder, kidnapping, arson) for decades. Even my girlfriend's uncle fell victim to such a murder (shot to death in the street by hired assassins in broad day light - also politically motivated).

The hits often happen with little fanfare, more recently through the handiwork of paid merceneraries or pre-teens who were raised and trained to snipe or kill for a powerful family.

The politicians here are technically feudal warlords in suits. Datu Unsay is no exception. The pics above are from yahoo news. It's a bit graphic, I apologize. But it's the some of the mildest there is. It's no fun staring at someone lying on the ground while the rest of his grey matter is lying on the grass beside him - or at least where his face used to be.

This piece of premeditated barbarism actually reached international news because of its brazenness: A convoy composed of women, lawyers and journalists were waylaid, led to the hillside and destroyed, sparing noone. All because someone dared to run against Datu Unsay for Governor.

smh... the things that people do to hang on to power

The real tick-off is that this man (Datu Unsay) has shown no remorse even when he was arrested. He smiles and sh*t and gives that mocking smug look in the camera, as if he has done the world a great service.

He recently plead NOT GUILTY in court. If this guy gets off the hook (something tells me he might), there WILL be bloodshed, that is assured.


If I had the resources myself, I'd hire someone to take him out. Or if I had the ordnance and the rifle training, I'd kill the bastard myself - then his family. Then go to other provinces and repeat the cycle or something.

As they say, in a big fire, you set off a bigger fire--- eats up all the oxygen from the first one, snuffing both out.

Alas, it is still a violently fond reverie, to be able to do that sort of purging.

Why Datu Unsay thought he can get away with it

I'm sharing this knowing that this is a global community.

I'm showing you the bad side of my world. Next time, I'm going to post something nice about it, like nature or food or something.

For now, I'm quite pissed. So yeah.

Certainly corrupt and dispicable trash of society. It angers me so that people like this "thing" are even allowed to be considered "men." How can "it" just walk around with no remorse? The thing is a monster, no, nothing more than wasted space.

You have my sympathy. I knew that things were not so nice down there but now I know just how...fragile it is. It seems lawless.

I've put tyrants like this in the ground, sounds like someone needs to make him feel the pain of all those families who suffer from his acts.

I really hate the guy, sorry about the pics.

Just today, his lawyer filed a notion to the court that the whole ordeal be discussed in Datu Unsay's dialect, as he can't speak the Tagalog dialect (the primary dialect in my country) or English -- an absolute lie, as he was defending himself verbally - and fluently - in Tagalog. The whole discrepancy was played repeatedly in TV.

He's making a mockery of the whole judicial system here (it's corrupt anyway, so he's probably making the most out of it).

I bet a lot of people are on to him too, like the communists (the National People's Army, an internationally recognized freedom-fighting/terrorist unit) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (the Islamic militants whom he personally blamed for the massacre when he was caught), but he's considered a high-profile target for sure, with the level of publicity that he's in right now.

His clan is also a known ally of the country's biggest warlords: The Presidential family. The Ampatuans helped deliver a statistically impossible complete win in the last national elections for the entire administration candidate line. All political opponents got a zero in the tallies for the entire province where the Ampatuans are gods. Anyone with an even mind can tell something's wrong with that. The news regarding the last election cheating haunts my country to this day.


Nevertheless, without the government structure right now, we'd be like Somalia or something, with all the warlords and stuff. I'm still thankful it exists.

Sometimes, I just get a feeling that I just had to pick the lesser evil in things here. Anyway, I'm waiting to see what happens next.

@Lunar: Yes, sadly, it is sort of lawless here. Even my own back yard is not safe, as even though I live in the quiet suburbs, I cross one of the most infamous ghettos in my city everyday to get to work, where rival gangs and drug dealers are active.

@Kratos & Star Adder: I agree. I'm looking for his name in the obituaries everyday. I know people who can do the job, but then again, I'm aware they will never take the risk since he's still on the spotlight and they thrive on the same system (women, weapons and hits). That would be ironic on their part.

@Havoc: Evil comes in all packages, friend. From deceptively appealing people like Ted Bundy to lowlives like this guy in the topic.

@X: He does look like a midget. He's kinda short, actually. I'm surprised he got himself a wife.

@Autosaver: As long as it doesn't involve federal interest, I doubt they will take action. The NBI (the equivalent of FBI in my place) might, though. They are the ones who are detaining the bastard right now -- and are actually pissed off too, as their special prisoner is making a circus out of them.
