Need a suggestion

Get a high perception and some decent gun skill and you wouldn't really have much need for the power armor. I finished the game without using it anyway.

From what I remember, these are my stats in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. when I finished it

Strength: 5
Perception: 10 (Base 8, +1 Shady Hat, +1 Vance's Longcoat)
Endurance: 5
Charisma: 6 (Base 5, +1 Vance's Longcoat)
Intelligence: 5
Agility: 6
Luck: 7 (Base 6, +1 Lucky Shades)

Maxed out small guns, lockpick, science, repair, and sneak (often maxed due to several items).

Pretty simple, actually. I prefer style over eating bullets head on from some super muties.

I used to fight in regional FPS tournaments (like Counterstrike, Battlefield and Quake III) back then. So I'm used to fighting and dodging in real game time. You can actually see the bullets zip past you in Fallout, so I find it easier. I use VATS when I have a clear shot (usually when hitting the enemy's face has a >85% success rate).

Or, as X said, the grenades - I love shooting them off hands, and oh, rocket launchers

VATS is God's gift to FPS players

As for the armor, I have the enclave hellfire armor, but I gave it to Jericho. He travels with me.

I built a high-precision character that has a decent crit rate, so I don't really need the armor that much. If they're too tough for my guns (like the behemoth), I just use the MIRV.

It pretty much kills everything in a huge diameter in one ditch. Kinda eats through your mini-nuke supply though.

you use the merv? i thought that was too powerful to use i keep it locked in my nuka cola fridge

Honestly if you like Fallout 3 at all. You should get it's DLC. Especially Broken Steel (it raises the level cap, adds extra perks, and oh ya IT MAKES YOU COME BACK TO LIFE FROM THE CRAP ENDING) But missions like Operation: Anchorage really hone your rifle skills without having to use VATS and they help with your stealth and you can have power armor training with non-degrading power armor at the beginning of the game. The Gauss rifle is a super powered gun as well. The Pitt is...okay and can give you free ammo for the rest of the game as well as some of the Oblivion Arena experience. Point Lookout is plot-wise pretty cool and the double barrel shotgun ain't to shabby either, you can also get a microwave emitter that is similar to the mesmetron (expect it kills people). Mothership Zeta (the last and final one) is by far my favorite. It lets you have rare alien weapons as well as a flying saucer for a house. But Broken Steel is the one you want, not only does it finish the game well but it gives you the tesla cannon, which is basically the equivalent of being Zeus.

The only reason it sucks is cause you don't have you big guns maxed.

i got to it 60 and it still took 4 shots to kill a hellfire trooper

Save often so that when you encounter something that you can't handle in one full lifebar (like a random raider with a really high perception or luck score) then you can just re-load at your last save spot.

Anyway, just in case carry a long melee weapon like a bat or a sword in case your opponent gets too close.

My loyal friend is my combat knife, my main trouble is that I can't run because says I'm "overemcumbered" (or something like that XD ) O_O

Anyway Foxy, lose the extra armor. It eats up a lot on your weight counter... and get rid of guns you aren't good at anyway, or stack them in a place that you would return to every now and then... like that junkie's house outside Megaton.
