| Well, NYC is a very urban area, Tean, so people there would most likely deal with what's at hand first. Common urban problems like thuggery and all that. South Africa's actually one of the most volatile places (exotic diseases, genocidal tribes with Ak-47s, predatory animals) on Earth. Try living in Burma, and you'd get a fascist military junta that controls your life. There are actually slums in all urban societies, that depends on some cultural diversity, when it comes to how the baddies act. For instance, here, where I come from, you can get shot when someone crazy enough decides he wants your frickin' pair of Levi's, or your cellphone. Or when you pass by their drinking session (which is often outside, in front of a makeshift grocery or store) and refuse to have a swig of gin or beer. Also, there are active commies and islamic terrorists walking around in the southern parts of the country, some of which I have seen personally strolling around carrying their smuggled AK-47s or M4A1s that some corrupt general sold them. The Hongkong Triad also operates here, as well as some international drug/white slavery cartels and sparsely, Yakuza. There are also organ thieves, criminal overlords turned politicians (see our President... whoopee), a ton of child assassins, private army goons, pro murderous bank robbers that DO NOT get caught, and quite recently, syndicates that run underground fight clubs ---- involving children below 15, who beat each other to death for cash. Nice place, it feels like home. | |

| LOL I know the musical. It's some sort of symbolism like Land of The Rising Sun for Japan. Or Land Down Under for the Aussies. They never made a wiki out of it. | |

| i know wat u mean Df. bout the triads and whatnot. They're here too....crazy aint it? they arent even originated here, but they're around. Wolfpac is a real gang in Chi-town, and Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings, and Wolfgangs, flourish here! as well as smallr cliques such as: Crossfire, Leprachauns, and Homothugs. (real, so real) they all rock different colors and they all flag. I've seen too many bullets around where i live. Specially on July 4th. On the July 4th, they have shootouts for the hell of it. I actually sleep through it, but when i wake up, i find bullet shells outside my house and whatnot. NYC aint a good place to tour. If you're gonna tour...go upstate, or manhattan. ONLY 42nd, and 34th street tho. NEVER!! NEVER!!! GO TO HARLEM!!! OR I CAN GARANTEE U A DEATH! whether it's u or someone near u, it will happen. |

| This topic is old... BUT I'M BUMPING IT!!!! Oh, I finally scanned my old painting of that rotting killer kid in my nightmares (see previous posts in this thread) I had to type the note I wrote behind the painting, it still gives me the creeps. Watercolor, circa 2001 | |
