Honestly Megatron has always been kind of freaky looking, well the Michael Bay version of him, The G1 version was ok. However the War for Cybertron and the new Transformers Prime looks really do inspire fear and he is truly the villain he was ment to be.

Well my guess is that movie producers wanted to show that Megatron and Optimus are on the same level as equal opposing forces of good and evil. And they didn't want to turn Optimus into something different so they made Megsy a fugly truck.

they should of made megatron a gun the same as the g1.. and let megatron always have someone to shoot him.. i think in the G1 cartoon series it was soundwave that was always with megatron to shoot him when he transformed :L

I was Starscream who fired Meg's in his gun form. On several occasions it was one of the other seekers. His G1 form wasn't my favorite but his new forms over several series of transformers have been a great improvement.

yeh starscream :p my bad... still decepticons owned autobots in g1 most of the time.. but cos it was for kids the good side always has to win at the end of each episode -.-
