I usually listen to (or play) instrumental music or tune in to a few songs that catch my mood. Well, here are around 3:
When I was forced to give up my job in the nuclear medicine field because of spinal trauma and sunk into depression, my girlfriend used to sing this to me softly to raise my spirits.
It's effective, really, finding yourself and how fortunate you still are when you think all is lost.

I listened to that twice last night, apart from the occasional screaming it's good. I like it.

Unfortunately a lot of bands have minor screaming in their songs, they don't need to add it but they think it sounds good. Two of my favourite bands are Breaking Benjamin and Red and the thing that annoys me is that they add screamo to a good song like Blow Me Away or Breathe Into Me. Okay some of their songs suit it because of the lyrics but with other songs it just ruins it.
Here is a song that gets the blood pumping but has no screaming...
It's called Adrenaline by Gavin Rossdale.

This is the first song I had ever heard from RED and ironically enough it was Killer Red who sent me that exact video. So I kind of have to thank him because now, RED is one of my favourite bands.
