B side:To the losers go the spoils

If anything Operation New Dawn had been too successful - what had been
a succession of simple raids on key personnel: Iron Mike, Solar, and Armix (White Wolf)
in order to poke the hornet's nest of the Pac and Horsemen escalated
into a full-blown war of body, words, and mind.

The war has been well documented by Iron Mike and Solar on a number of forums, and fighting
reached an intensity rarely before seen on the game - testing the physical
and mental capability of all involved. None felt the pressure more than
Iron Mike himself; while A New Dawn was butchering his comrades, Brake
of Dawn was sweet talking their women, and all the while, the ranks of
the Dawn were brimming with trusted con colleagues all lining up to do
their bit to incite violence and prop up the falling autoranks: Dawn of
the Dead, Dawn of War, Crack of Dawn, Dawn's First Light, From Dusk til
Dawn to name but a few.

The decepticon backlash was terrifying, fuelled by minion agents' reports and forum posts of the terrible suffering inflicted at the hands of Dawn warriors. The myth grew, and , in a perhaps an unintentional portent of future events, "Dawn" became the byword for Evil - and of course attracting the usual number of posers, con legends, the full might of the Pac and their former core, the Horsemen, not to mention the vague whispers and unsubstantiated sightings of an unknown group called Minions, and its hazy membership association with far older names.

A fair recount of this war, fought with such enthusiasm by my Con
cousins deserves a full telling in a separate chapter - however after
months of bloody fighting, and with its true objectives nearing
fulfullment, the struggle came to a violent end. A New Dawn answered
the final and decisive battle cry of the Wolf Pac himself. Putting
aside the subtext of the war itself, there was true animosity between
these two, now veterans, of the game. They squared off for not only
personal pride, and bragging rights - but the outcome of the war.

As DF alludes, the Minions' plans came full circle with Wolf Pacs defeat - the Dawns
declared victory in the war and then to use I think Brake of Dawn's
expression all immediately went on "recuperative leave" which left the slack-jawed Prime
Warriors and the scattered remains of the Templars holding the bag to face the enraged might of a large number of cons finally united against a common enemy.

However, as bad as the now isolated Prime Warriors thought it was, it was about to get far worse. The blood literally drained from Magnum's face as minion agents leaked the news of A New Dawn's true identity.

His army, his allies, his public forum, his secret forum, all compromised.

Next chapter: The rise and fall and rise and fall of the Prime Worriers.

Alas Brother Father,

They were written as a TFX exclusive as I fear the expression "The truth will set you free" will not apply if you repeat my posts at TFL.

The truth is often deleted at TFL in my experience.

They are not secret by anymeans - but let those interested come to this fine forum to read them if they wish.

regards,

Def

The height of Roleplaying Drama -- TFSupreme

After the fall of the Templars and after the first disbanding of the Prime Warriors, there was really little left for the Minions to do, except drift around. By then, the objective was to "Go double" -- get a Decept global score twice that of the Autobots.

I was tearing my fair share of Autobot hide when Last Bott told me about a new TF forum. This was timely, as the old forum sucked much because of the shameless porn links that were scattered all throughout, primarily in the Autobot section.

I visited the site and registered. I eventually found myself in what was known as TFSupreme, under the management of Aerialbot. In there, I felt like I was in an entirely different atmosphere. There was the bickering and all the threats, it's just that you don't get to shoot the other guy and get quick results until you land in the game itself.

I was anonymous for a short while, until I came upon a thread in the Decepticon Forum about a Poll as to who should be the Decepticon leader.

(Couldn't find that thread anymore, if you can post it here, much better. Thanks.)

I don't care about Decept Leader elections because the only Decept leader for me, is the original leader - Megatron.

Anyway, I posted a lengthy summary there as to what a True Decepticon should be. Something that only Horridwing took note of and took great lengths to share a series of PMs about it, including a proposition for a spot among the Mandalorians.

I declined, as I am already a part of the Minions. Perhaps that was the first mention of the Minion group too, in a BFTA forum. It was there that I received my first sig too, courtesy of Delacroix.

It was from that point that I practiced making sigs, from Photoshop. Mostly from pictures out of Dungeons and Dragons, from the Archdevil series. Making sigs for other players honed the skill a bit more everytime.

I formally met the other side of the Timezone too, what we had coined then as the 'Western Armies': The AoF, the rest of the Mandalorians, Hellfighters (what's left of them), The Prime Warriors, The Mercs, the Wolfpac, and the Four Horsemen (who subsequently made separate forums, thus, TFLegends and Knights).

It's worth nothing that I met the players from Christchurch in TFS, proving that the game and the TF mythos surpass all cultural boundaries.

Though more of them can be found in the zones, mostly the leaders or spokespersons stood in the forums, as is the case of I and Defbringer, who served as the 'Face' of the Minions inside the BFTA forums.

Beyond the task though, I met friends there who thought outside of BFTA's repetitive pattern. Most of them remain in the forums to this day.

We barely collected information from TFS, however, as the real deception takes place outside, mostly at the heart of the enemy.

When New Dawn revealed who he really was, one of the most known Autobot groups post-Templars, the Prime Warriors, nearly shattered again (as to whether it is second or third is beyond my memory).

The PWs back then were seeded with Minion agents, some of which had access to some of their game plans. Hence, the Minions were already prepared by the time they meet in the zone. Most of them were observers, but a handful are naysayers and psywarriors (who caused defections and disinterest), who kept the PWs from truly growing as big reputation-wise as the Templars or the AoF then.

Mags, to his credit, has learned to filter information --- thus, the PWs somehow grew in the later aspects of the game. He truly is a man of his word, and his sense of honor was also the key to the predictability of the PWs back then. The point that he adapted to all that sabotage and negative campaign and that he persevered, gives him the quality of a real-life leader.

Kudos, Magnimus Prime.

The Dawn-Minion "Ghost" campaign can be summarized in this quote:
Quote :

It's Mongolian philosophy at work.

You ride into the heart of your enemy's stronghold, you kill them from outside, or from within, take their wives as your own, poison their wells with lead and sow salt into their fields that their land may be untenable for generations to come.

The feud between the Minions and the Prime Warriors somehow found its way into TFS, however, as several threads were made around that theme.

It was that time too, that the Decepts are starting to fragment, and are now fighting among themselves, to the extent of making Autobot accounts to fulfill that need.

Something had to be done, before the PWs, the AoF (through Steelclaw and Killer Red, whose spying was observed then by Minion agents among the armies) and the rest of the Autobots manage to use the obvious flaw to their benefit.

We held the AoF as the biggest threat back then, as they worked with a sense of real silence, if not only for Steelclaw's admissions that he spied right after the mission was accomplished.

In that sense, that is one of the reasons why the Minions never talked about these things ---

until today. As far as the game went, we were all nameless, mingling among the general playing population, save for the two most prominent, and the latter who signed up in TFL (Anais and Pumpkin).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the threat imminent, the campaign to unite the Decepticons was started,

this was coined as "Autoslaughta II"

The Minions then made themselves known for the first time, through Defbringer:

Defbringer wrote:
The One Tru Megatron is displeased with the state of the world.

There are too many who have forgotten or misused his mighty name. He is sick of posers, wannabees, and dare he ever think it - those who mention the name of autobot self-styled "leaders" before his own.

The one tru Megatron works evil through us all. We must remember that, accept that as who we are, and not only that, REVEL in it.

Those who are tru decepticons know what I mean.

The one tru Megatron calls his generals, soldiers, and minions to him. There are many of you here who have heard his name and will be curious to find out more.

If deep down you feel him calling you - PM me. Autaslaughta II has already begun - you don't wont to miss out.

I do not post the names of our leaders here for obvious reasons - but the DarkFather and myself are loyal emissaries of his name and practicioners of the only tru evil.

ALL HAIL THE ONE TRU MEGATRON.

More or less, the exchange between the Autobots and the Minion emissaries (me and Def) were very colorful in their own way, with all the taunting and zealot gibber that we were spilling.

Here are a few of the old threads I found concerning the Minion campaigns for Autoslaughta II:

It's nice to look back at the past, and see how far we've come from all the bickering and the lies (though a new set of ranting can be currently read here and at TFL), and still come to respect each other as individuals one way or another, despite the differences.

Next:

Knights, TFL, TFX, Sigs

Immortals, Knights, and turning Xtreme

The game waned. In quality and quantity, playerwise.

Newbies and noobs were all over the place. You may see a major every now and then, but then most likely, it's a tanked-up major that took only half a day of forfeiting to get to that status.

The only reasonable fights then were with Prime Warriors, Ponyy boy (who just kept on going), Hong Liang, Silent Assassin, and Metallic (who sweared a lot that you can't help but swear back).

Most of the old players frequented the forums by then, maintaining a sense of community among players, old and new.

When TFS had its infamous 'mismanagement' issues resulting in account breaches and admin bullying (consisting of post deletions and editing without member notification), several members decided to create separate forums, of which I registered.

Highlander and Prowl created TFL a year ago, where I registered on April 9, 2008.

Similarly, I registered into the Horsemen's Forum, Knights from the Dark Pits of Hell, at around the same time frame. This was after an invitation by Last Bott (Hellcat), who I held in high esteem on and off the game.

In TFL and Knights, I met the Four Horsemen themselves (not actually four, but they are players who have gone beyond the game socially, and look out for each other). I met Solarfighter on a rather more personal note, whose personality differed a lot from what Aerial used to antagonistically project at TFS.

It was Solar who gave me the idea to deal with personal art, since I was using artwork by Todd Lockwood for my sigs back then, as the ones of Drew Posada (R.I.P.). Thus, I started to practice more in Photoshop and I self-studied how to color my pencil sketches digitally.

In TFS, Fowlmaster encouraged me to do better, as he makes excellent sigs in Photoshop CS.

My first digital artwork, "Black Dawn," was first posted in TFL. This was also the first time that I have shown how I depicted the "Darkfather," the Dungeons and Dragons villain whose name I used in BFTA.

He is the long-haired guy in the foreground.

Nemesis Primal of the Minions created the Minions forum, and for a time, I, Defbringer, Anais, and the other Minions posted our plans there. However, we have traced a security risk from posting plans in the forums, so we decided to plan elsewhere. The Minion site is closed now, as the Minion objective is done and over with.

The Devil's Own also had their forum too, in which I registered. I hardly had the time to visit all these forums at the same time, however, as work demands ate most of my time by then.

TFS was then hacked after a security breach, after Mags' password was found out in one of open the chatsites. The site was vandalized, in my presence, as I was reading posts then in TFS' Graphics section.

This turn of events (and the Abrogates drama issue, which is simply the same players under different usernames) led to the death of TFS.

Aerial resurrected the forum and put me partly in charge, along with Foxy. Things turned for the worse however, as the same issues (too many admins and the fact that there is little screening as to who becomes admin back then) haunted it.

TFX was then born, after the Mandalorians: Foxy, Horrid and Lunar, decided to make a forum for BFTA players and TF fans, after the mismanagement issues rose again. I became an admin for TFX soon after, primarily to decorate the forum and for ideas.

In the middle of all the forum drama and management issues, a game concern came to my attention. This was coined, in secret, as "The Horseman Agenda."

It was then that the Horsemen came into conflict with Shinedevil and his group. Shinedevil was a known ally among Minions, and the Horsemen are aware of this fact. This started as an issue about Shine's "natural" penchant for teasing Hong Liang, which is rather offensive on a third-party perspective. This misunderstanding escalated somehow to the Minion core, and I was deleted back then from the Knights forum, for reasons related therein. A "Destroyer of Minions" account came into existence at this time, who tracked down known Minions who logged on into the game.

This was cleared shortly however, by the Horsemen, as it was a clear ploy to bring the Autobots into the open, as maybe, related to "Operation New Dawn," where the Templars fell into the trap. A date when the 'war' will be held was set, and a lot of plans are put into place.

I sadly could not participate on that fateful day, June 13 (I think), as it was in the week when I was out of town, on an island getaway. On the 20th of June 2007, a year after I first registered, I retired officially from Battle of the Allspark.

I would then visit around once in two or three months, just to see how the game is 'faring'.

Talk nowadays is the settlement of grudges upon the rise of V2, traces of which can be read all over the boards at TFX and at TFL.

Members in forums have come and gone, but TFL and TFX, of which I am member too, patiently await the release of V2.

What of the Minions in V2? That I could not answer myself, as our members are busy living life offline, and my only hope is that if ever we do get together to fight side by side again,

The Defender of Ancient Times would wield his sword anew and rewrite game history as it is.

With the threat imminent, the campaign to unite the Decepticons was started,

this was coined as "Autoslaughta II"

The Minions then made themselves known for the first time, through Defbringer:

Ah, I remeber those times. Full of frustration and hard work as sweat. I was aware of a few of the Minion agents at that time, though I must admit, I didnt know about all of them. DF make the statement that my sense of honor was also our predicatbility. That was not, and still is not, completely true. I can remember a couple of times that my PWs and I caught Pumpkin in a carefully prepared trap, though we never got the chace to use it against either Def or DF.

Though by the late stages of the game, the PW grew to become one of the largest and most stable armies before the end of BFTA. In fact, Pumpkin I think left as he was starting to get owned by me. Our fights allowed me to learn his attack and defensive patterns which never changed. That allowed me to defeat him with relative easy. So I consider that payback for the forementioned Operation New Dawn.

It has been fun and I am honored to be a part of a wonderful forum with people that I can say with relative easy are my friends and my TF family. It will be a shame that once V2 come out that we will be pitting against each other. Though we all have our reasons, honor, and believes that we will uphold. That is what has allowed me to keep going with the Prime Warriors going despite the times that it seemed hopeless.

That just sounds really cool.

Its like on LOST when there are tail section survivors and fuselage survivors. Both of them encountering the others, monster etc but never actually meet each other until Season 2.

Thanks, but that is how it happened. What a coincidence, isn't it? One game and yet some are worlds apart.

I guess it will all boil down when this simple game returns in V2.
