Quantum Act II Chapter 8

Kyle: Good evening Chicago, my name is Kyle McKenzie son of Alec McKenzie. Six years ago myself and six others were brutally murdered. The seven of us were linked by friendship and blood. Four of these people were my friends, another was my brother and the last person was my girlfriend. You are probably wondering how I am here is I was killed, well I can tell you. Something extraordinary happened to five of us. We were given a second chance at life and were given these special abilities. It is something that I alone cannot explain. So instead we are going to show you. Although these abilities are amazing there are chances that people will use them to hurt others. That is why a special section of the government was put together to find people like me and lock them away. They are known as the S.A.I.S. aka Superhuman Abilities Intelligence Section. They are here in this very city and because of them all of you will either join my cause, or die.

Kyle’s message was played on every news channel and every radio station, his threat was made clear and now people were starting to panic. He had taken full responsibility for the bridge incident and had also destroyed the ferries that take people away from the city. The tunnel had been blocked off and the airport had been hit by some kind of bomb. There was no way out of the city. Kyle wanted the entire city to feel trapped and afraid. Eventually they would all go crazy and the so called civilized people would “eat themselves”. Exactly what Kyle wanted. Now it was only a matter of time.

Cam, Miguel, Melina, Michael and Alexandra were all working like crazy. They had to figure out where Kyle would strike next before it was too late. Michael was on the phone to the General. Apparently he was sending soldiers to the city incase things started getting really out of control. Miguel was pretending to be working but was really listening in to the conversation. He had the ability to predict the future, now it was time to find out where Kyle would strike next. Cam approached him and gave him files.

Cam: Pretend to be looking at those.

Miguel: Alright, what’s on your mind?

Cam: Come on man you already know. You can read minds.

Miguel: You’re right sorry. I try not to read your mind though.

Cam: Look I know you can’t control the whole predicting the future thing and have trouble remembering it so I came up with an idea.

Miguel: What?

Cam: You paint it.

Miguel: You’re funny.

Cam: No I’m serious. I talked to Alexandra and she told me that she knew this guy who could predict the future and one day he was painting with his three year old kid when he started seeing things. He said he blacked out and ended up painting a car hitting his wife.

Miguel: What happened?

Cam: She was hit and killed. Look if I get you some painting supplies we may be able to find out where Kyle is going to strike next.

Miguel: Okay I’ll give it a shot.

Ethan, Aaron, Alex and Tim stood on the edge of the woods looking at the Governors house. It was surrounded by a tall brick wall and a metal gate. There were armed guards inside the perimeter ready to shoot anyone that got on the wrong side of the wall. There was also video surveillance all around the house. Nothing but annoying little problems that can easily be fixed.

General Stone sat in his office watching a news channel, there had been more attacks by Kyle’s people. Soldiers were trying to capture them but they weren’t having much luck. Cars set on fire, people being taken away in ambulances, people attacking soldiers and riot police. It was getting out of hand. Kyle was getting what he wanted, and more. The shades in his office blocked the sight of anyone outside. Kyle appeared in front of him grinning.

General Stone: Are you crazy?! You can’t be here!

Kyle: No one has seen me yet, besides I won’t be long.

General Stone: What do you want?

Kyle: Too make sure you’re still aware of what I expect of you.

General Stone: I am fully aware.

Kyle: Good, it happens tomorrow night.

General Stone: Alright, my men will be in position.

Kyle: There have been some changes to the plan though.

General Stone: What kind of changes?

Kyle: Certain people will need to be caught. Tim Duechrass, Ben Smail, Alex Cortez. Their imprisonment will rally more people with abilities. Ethan Roberts and Aaron Stryker will need to escape. Think you can handle that?

General Stone: Yes.

Kyle: Good. Now where are we with Cameron?

General Stone: He doesn’t realize his full potential.

Kyle: Well I hope he does by tomorrow night. Have you managed to create a vaccine using Dave’s blood?

General Stone: Yes, all of my soldiers are going to be fitted with the vaccine. Your people won’t know what hit them. Also, Patient X is being dosed with the vaccine daily. He won’t be exploding for awhile.

Kyle: Good. Now where is the building?

General Stone: Center of town, it will have a red banner hanging in front of it.

With that Kyle disappeared and left the General to his thoughts. What he was doing would be seen as wrong to many people, but he was doing this for the greater good….
