And give Bane credit, he's a genius. Genius bruiser for that matter. In order to deduce Batman's identity Bane strolled into Gotham and iniated a massive prison break of Arkham's imates. Batman spent three months rounding them all up and once he was done and went on to his manor, tired and clearly in no shape to fight another villain, surprise; Bane was waiting for him. What happened next was nothing short of a brutal beatdown.
However, for villainly points, I give them to the Joker:
Bane and Joker have 2 different objectives though. Joker just wants everyone to recognize that Batman is just as crazy as the rest of the "criminally insane" at Arkham. (Which he technically is) If you notice, Christopher Nolan makes sure that Bruce Wayne never refers to himself as Batman, and Batman never refers to himself as Bruce Wayne. They always refer to each other in the third person. Christopher Nolan's purpose is to show that Bruce Wayne is actually a psychotic schizophrenic with a twisted sense of justice. It just seems to work to Gotham's benefit somehow.
Batman is just like Dexter, except not nearly as brutal.
