The year is 1097, a year after the Holy Roman Empire waged war against the Great Seljuq Empire, the Danishmends, Fatimid Caliphate, Almoravid dynasty, and the Abbasid Caliphate. I, a slave of the crusaders from a distant island, am a soldier for the Holy Roman Empire. They promised me freedom, rewards beyond my imagination, and forgiveness from their God. My people always told me that forgiveness from another God will bring me good health and life. As a slave of the Empire, I am to do what I am told. Failure to do so will result in imprisonment and beatings from my master. I have served master for six years now and I am seventeen. Master has taught me all I know about swordsmanship and have even bested the best swordsmen in the household.
I live in a country called Vermandois and have been named Lanuro des Roches as a way to show my loyalty to my master. My former identity I cannot remember because I was told to relieve myself of old memories. I have yet to actually fight in this war because I lack training. Master says that I may be the best in the household, besides himself, but I was still not good enough to be in the Crusade. He has told me that in order to be qualified enough to be in the Crusade, I will need to join the Knights Templars. This act will bring honor to my household and to my master. But what of me?
I will fight for the Holy Roman Empire and win the promises that were made. Along the way I will meet many companions and friends. I will not descriminate against any that I will meet and shall lend them any assistance that they need.
This is basically an RPG that is set around the Crusades. However, being that this is an RPG and some writers prefer stories that contain powers I will allow powers to be used in this RPG. You can even make up a country you're from since my character comes from a distant island. We all know that the carribean was not known by the European and Middle-Eastern countries at the time.
